Ch Abdul Latif Senior Advocate HCSC is founder partner of Imam Aliz Law Associates since its inception 1973. He completed his Law Graduation early 1970’s. He was enrolled as an Advocate of West Pakistan Bar Council on 29th March 1973, and started practice in the field of Income Tax exclusively. He started his carrier as an Advocate with District Bar Association Karachi and then with Rawalpindi Bar Association and Rawalpindi-Islamabad Tax Bar Association and High Court Bar Association Lahore which is keep on till date.
He became member of the Punjab Bar Council as an Advocate of High Courts on 06 October 1980 and carried on his Taxation practice in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad which afterwards spread over the country. Mr. Ch Abdul Latif practices taxation law with an emphasis on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, Avoidance of Double Taxation of International companies in Pakistan, Taxation on payments to non residents, Foreign Source Salary, Foreign Tax Credit, Diplomatic and United Nations Exemptions, divestitures, reorganizations and financings. His practice also includes advising on tax aspects of business operations (including transfer pricing), innovative securities offerings, real estate investments, intellectual properly rights Laws.
He has written numerous articles and presented papers on a variety of income tax subjects, including partnership reorganizations, mutual funds, major business agreements, variable management fees, foreign property investments for tax exempt entities, income Tax Refunds, share purchase agreements, cross-border software payments, employees Taxations, repatriation from Pakistani Business Liabilities, Liquidations of Companies, foreign spin-offs and financing investments in Pakistan.
He has represented clients before Income Tax officers to the Commissioners, Commissioner of Appeals, Regional Commissioners of Income Tax, Director General of Information and Vigilance, Settlement Commission, Income Tax Appellate Tribunal, Sales Tax Appellate Tribunal, National Accountability Bureau, High Courts and Supreme Court of Pakistan.
